FAQ & JEWELLERY CARE
A few things you might want to know
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Twe jewellery handmade?
Yes. Every piece is individually made by hand in St Ives, Cornwall. Because of this, small variations in colour, shape and finish are part of the character of each piece.
Where is Twe jewellery made?
Every Twe piece is handmade in St Ives, Cornwall, inspired by the coastline and the places, textures and little treasures found around it.
Is the sea glass genuine?
Where a listing says genuine sea glass, yes. Each piece has its own natural colour, shape and markings, so the piece you receive may vary slightly from photographs.
Is the sand genuinely from Cornwall?
Where specified, yes. Sand is collected in small quantities from the named Cornish beach or location associated with the piece.
Will my jewellery look exactly like the photograph?
Not always — and that's part of the beauty of handmade jewellery. Natural materials and individually made pieces will have their own subtle differences.
Are your earrings suitable for sensitive ears?
We should answer this based on the actual findings you've used. Don't make a blanket claim here — we'll list exactly what you've used for each relevant product.
How are my pieces packaged?
Twe jewellery is presented in a Twe gift pouch, ready to give or keep.
How to Care for your Twe Jewellery
Your Twe jewellery is made to be worn and enjoyed, but a little care will help keep it looking its best.
Keep it away from water
Avoid swimming, bathing and showering while wearing your jewellery. Prolonged contact with water can affect resin, finishes and metal findings.
Perfume comes first
Apply perfume, hairspray, lotions and other products before putting your jewellery on and allow them to dry.
Give it a little rest
When you're not wearing your jewellery, store it somewhere dry and preferably away from direct sunlight.
Keep resin looking beautiful
Resin can scratch, so avoid storing pieces loose alongside harder jewellery. If your piece needs cleaning, gently wipe it with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth.
Treat natural materials gently
Sea glass, shells, sand and pressed flowers are part of what makes Twe special. Avoid knocks, drops and harsh chemicals.
Rings & adjustable pieces
Adjustable wire rings should be adjusted gently and as little as possible. Repeatedly bending the wire can weaken it over time.
Something handmade deserves a little care.
Look after your Twe piece and hopefully it'll carry its little piece of Cornwall with you for years to come. 🤍
